Jeff explained he had contacted the Idaho State ATA (Amateur Trap Shooting Association) about GGC sponsoring Big 50 registered trap shoots. A Big 50 registered shoot consists of any 50 bird score (25 bird scores, shot in consecutive weeks) that the GGC would turn into the ATA as registered target scores. The participant would have to declare he was shooting his Camas Prairie Ten week score as registered targets and pay the $1.50 fee to have the scores tracked by the ATA. The Big 50 shoots will start the third week of the Camas Prairie trap shoot and the registered targets can be shot through the Spring League shoot. Handicap target scores cannot be reported during the spring league shoot as the shooters handicap yardage is not based on his/hers ATA handicap yardage. Jeff is taking the lead, if you have any questions please contact Jeff.

2022 GRANGEVILLE GUN CLUB NEWSLETTER
Greetings Members,
The ten-week telephonic Camas Prairie will begin on January 9 this year. There will not be any scores shot on
Saturday. All scores must be shot on Sunday unlike last year. Another major change involves the addition of a
handicap event that will be held on Thursday March 17. This will make the annual shoot at Walla Walla a four
day tournament. The Thursday event will be held as a memorial to past members. The shoot dates are March
17, 18, 19 and 20, 2022.
Pepper Harman has once again agreed to make his oh, so good! tri-tip barbecue for lunch on the first Sunday.
You can be of help by supplying any various salads or deserts. Thank you in advance.
The number four trap has been upgraded to a walk in style like the first three traps, and has an easy open
aluminum door as the others. We have applied for a Fish and Game grant which will be used to rebuild the
number 2 trap field and also connect a new sidewalk between number three and number four. It is hoped
that we will also be able to buy another new Pat Trap to replace our oldest unit.
The league shoot was moved from April to May last year, and many shooters found this time of year to be
much better weather wise so the board will move the sign up date to May 3, and the league will begin on May
10. Our August registered shoot was a great success. We had a lot of shooters from north Washington and Idaho
who made their first trips to Grangeville. The excellent weather helped as well.
The annual dues are $20 a year for an individual or a family membership. The dues must be paid to qualify
for the ten-week trophies. We will once again hold a pot luck at the end of the ten week shoot and ten week
winners will be awarded their trophies. Several fun shoot events are planned for the afternoon. We will be
throwing pink targets again with a winner to be drawn on the last Sunday. The winner will receive a gun as in
the past.
The cost of practice targets remains at $3.50 but our registered target price is $31 per 100 targets due to increase
in cost. Our registered target price is still one of the lowest in the Northwest as is the cost of practice.
Ammo shortages remain a problem as of this writing but we hope that it will abate in the near future, Prices
are unknown at this time.
Remember to check our web site. You can go to http://grangevillegunclub.com and take a look at the new
site. It is still in a building mode and will have lots more information soon so keep checking in to see what is
new. The gun club is also asking members who are inclined to supply an email address to help with communications.
Juniors and Sub Juniors will be eligible again for the Jack McCulley Memorial trophy. In regard to junior and
sub junior shooting fees please remember that this coming year they can shoot for half price if you buy a
shooting card and they will also receive one box of shells. If you want to shoot more you will have to supply
the shells, but you can still use your shooting card. As a reminder Sub Juniors are age 15 and under, Juniors
are those that are over 15 and still attending high school for the purposes of the ten week shoot. Veterans are
65 and Senior Veterans begin at 70.
The gun club is open every Saturday at 1p.m. for practice.
